Ahhh the secret to the treadmill workout!

Ok, so it's not much a huge secret but the iPod is officially at the top of my "I'd like to shake the hand of the inventor of..." list. Music! Sweet music and the time just flys by! Even better if the songs you listen to average 5 to 6 minutes cause *BAM* 5 or so songs and you have a half hour of treadmill time under your belt and you didn't even feel it! Alright, so this is nothing new to you veteran gym rats but a useful revelation in the hand is worth two in the bush. Not that I think that Bush has ever had a useful revelation let alone two...but now I'm waaaaay off topic. And, this is not that type of blog.

It took me a while today to get motivated to go to the gym. My legs are still shaky from yesterday and my thighs are very sore. Eventually I mustered up some energy and went in for 30 min on the treadmill! I must say that I will be very happy when my legs can do this without feeling like they're going to give out on me. But even with that and the soreness I do feel like I have a slightly better range of movement. Mark that in the gain column.

My next workout with Kendrick is scheduled for Tuesday. Tomorrow I rest my legs and finally get my shopping done.

Whew SEAN! I finally made it back. I was so sure I had this in my favs but when I looked - oh NO I had lost you :) Just checking in like I promised - looks like you're doing great so far. Be sure to keep track of all the interesting ways you find to prepare that chicken. Being new to blogging I had no idea how hard it can be to find a blog you've lost and not made note on - then it occured to me to look in my comments and trace back. Almost as smart as a carrot tonight, aren't I?
Later Mr. Smiley Jello Legs :)

HI Sean!

What music are you listening to when you tread the mill?

And how you cook the chicken, yeah we want to know!

Do you like salmon? It's good for the brain and energy.

I might want an option for a larger picture to work from yes. I am totally going to do this idea, especially since you think it's okay with you and a good idea.

Um, you can send me a a photo, even the one on your blog...just so I can make it so I can see it better on my computer. My email is candyminx@hotmail.com

Cheers,
I'm all inspired to excercise too.

I listen to Jay-Z, Beyonce, Christine Millian, Madonna, Chemical Brothers, Busta Ryhmes, to walk or move by to excercise.

Yo Yo, Seaninator! Goin for the gusto!

Dude, listening to techno while jogging is really fun and uplifting for me. Try it on the tread. Although, it can be embarrassing when you are walkin along and all of the sudden you start doin that white-boy smile dance from side to side as you step. But that's what exercises the inner parts.
I'm stoked about being a new member to the blogging world. I've hooked up with a master meditation/spiritual guy who has authored some of my favorite past readings and happens to have a blog on blogger.comizzle as wellizzle. Also, my friend Hava, from my honors class, has now started her own blog account, which I hope she'll start posting soon cuz her writing is supreme.
Doesn't the pain feel good inside? It's not like a sunburn, where you only have hot water to fear and dead skin to shed. It's the kind of pain that reminds you that you did something good.
Have you listened to any of the Farren brothers or Brian while workin it lately? They get me goin too. Peace homeboy,
B

Hey there Sean. Yea . . it would be great to get some idea of your playlist. I hated the treadmill and still do. Tam draged me to the gym for a year and it got obnoxious running in place and then the magical ipod came around. It helps out so much.

Personally, I've got Armand van Helden, System of a Down and Tool usually playing to get me through the daily 30 mins on the treadmill. However I've on many occassions put on some of Justin's faster songs (a litle short sometimes though), Dreaming Seed and Bob's Child.

Hey . . . this probably isn't a good time to try this stuff out yet but my trainer has me on this shake that helps detoxify while providing nutrients and good stuff for your body in a well balanced manner. His buddy developed the company and so forth. It helped me put on some more muscle mass and has helped others lose weight but my trainer said that you might want to try it out after you've got into the groove. I can get you a sample if you like or I can bring up some for you November (part of my contribution) but check the ingredients beforehand though ;) I'd suggest the cookies too. They are sooooo much better than that intro Apex stuff that 24hour fitness promotes but not as tasty. Anywise . . . http://www.elixirmre.com is the website . . .

You should also post your meal plan so we can keep track. That would be great man. Oh yea . . Tam wishes you good luck and I've been talking to all of her doctor friends out here and they say that diet is going to be the best way to curb this . . . they warn though that exercise is going to want to make you consume more which can sometimes be counter productive. And stretch my friend . . stretch . . .I haven't got that down yet myself and my trainer tells me that I'm going to need a hip replacement by the time I'm forty . . so watch out for that.

Take care my friend!

Hey everyone who responded,

It looks like I got a few of the same questions about music choices and food so i'll answer them in post form to make it a little easier.

I want to say though, the enthusiastic responses are of great encouragement so thank you very much!

sincerely,
Mr. Smiley Jello Legs
